Approximately how much would a pair of 50's Desoto ribbed bumpers, NOS still in the original packaging be worth?

The thin ribbed Desotos are from 1937. The big ribbed bumpers are off of 1949ish Plymouths.

If you had a nice NOS pair of 1937 Desoto bumpers I would think they could be worth $3000. Or more.

PS: I've had some Desoto bumpers in the past, needing straightening and chrome, and got good money for them.

  3. like he said you have two choices 37 DeSoto or 49 Plymouth.

the Plymouth bumpers run $300 a pair and up. funny thing I paid less than $300 for 2 49 Plymouths with Bumpers.

so just like everything else in this world. they are cheap and everywhere you look if you don't want or need them! soon as you want or need them they are rare and expensive!

Mine must be Plymouth then, definately not the 37 Desoto style.

Also have what we think is a Chrysler Town & Country rear bumper of the same era.

All N.O.S. never out of the wrappings.

I paid $100 for a pair of decent bumpers and then $25 for a ****py one that I used to widen one of the nice ones. I would have paid $300+ for NOS ones with good plating.

PS- If you find someone who wants them but needs some s****s to widen them, let me know... I still have the leftovers.

Looks to be a 37 DeSoto front bumper. I believe the rear bumper had more curve to them.

Marshall. I don't know the value but I would be interested in it when you determine a price. PM if you would.

You can get look alike aluminum bumpers made by Brizio for any car. About $200 - $300 apiece.

The aluminum repos are made by Briz, not Brizio. Briz is located in the PNW I believe.
The Briz bumpers don't come close to originals.
I've found swap meet prices for originals are all over the map, very hard to say exactly what they are worth.
However the fronts seem to be more desirable than the rears.

that 37 desoto pictured is a front, definately more desireable than the 37 rear
you can tell them apart at a glance because the front has a hole in the middle
the rear has no hole and is way more curved so it will go around the spare tire on the original 37 desoto
most 33 to 40 fords in the old days used 2 fronts, making them more valuable
although they are a little wide for the rear of an early ford
some people have flattened the rears, but that is a real ***** because they are spring steel
