I am in fitting hell! I am running 3/8" steel fuel lines. I can't imagine that I am the only one in this hell. I am running steel 3/8" fuel lines. I need to add a regulator and a fuel log that both have 3/8" NPT (female) ports. I cannot for the life of me locate an adapter that goes from 3/8" tube (5/8-18 thread) female to 3/8" NPT male I went to every parts store in my area. No luck. Including NAPA. Online is very difficult. Some sites refer to flare fittings by the thread size -- others by the tube size. I searched Edelmann's catalog and cannot locate it. Does anyone have a part number or suggestion? UPDATE -- 124660 Edlemann (or NAPA / Eaton 202x6x6) works! The Summit website incorrectly lists the thread as 3/8-24.
try a hydraulic hose shop or menards/home depot /lowes , I know my menards has a small br*** fitting ***ortment in the plumbing area . try the parker fitting catalog .

I guess I should clarify that it is an inverted flare fitting. Not an AN fitting. I should also mention that I tried Home Depot and tractor supply. I will try a hydraulic shop Monday, but I think I tried that already too.
Go to Summit Racing- they have a good selection of adapters and an easy system for identifying what you are looking for
try a eaton weatherhead 202x6x6 ( thats the catalog number ) http://www.amazon.com/Eaton-Weatherhead-Inverted-Fitting-Adapter/dp/B00USZRNS4 they are not cheap ..
Two places in your neck of the woods are Godman Performance in Memphis and Honest Charleys in Chattanooga. Don't waste your time with the big box stores (unless you need nails and plywood). I know both are quite a drive (long) from Knoxville, but mail order should only be a couple days.
Another perhaps simpler alternative is to cut the flare and remove the inverted flare nut. Then re-flare with a flare nut. Jack E/N
Wow. Not used to so many replies. I should mention that I was looking at Edelmann's 124660. This is the part that is also known as Eaton 202x6x6. But Summit lists the IFF thread as 3/8-24 -- not 5/8-18! So that's why I came here. I ordered it to check, since I have little option. I will report back what I find.
You could always get a br*** 3/8 pipe to 1/4 pipe bushing and use a 3/8 tube to 1/4 pipe fitting. I would guess that at least 50% of all HAMBers have some of those in their junk boxes.
3/8 line will NOT have 3/8-24 thread. 3/8-24 is the thread size for standard 3/16" brake line. If the fitting description says inverted flare 3/8 tube to 3/8 pipe then 124660 is what you want.

I crossed it and its the one you want , I have learned the people at summit do not research or know what the Heck they are selling . often I have to do the looking up myself as their "tech" people are not much better .
O'Reilly's show the Edelmann 124660 on their web sight for $6.99, I usually can get that kinda stuff to their stores in a day or so; without the high shipping on-line sellers tend to stick you with for small items.
We stock those fittings at work and most automotive parts stores should have them but not many of their parts people will know what to look for.
I have some and my local auto parts store has them also.......they have the old tall Edelmann cabinet .
124660 (is the same as 202x6x6) and is THE CORRECT PART!!! Summit is the only site that actually lists the thread and its WRONG. I went to 7 stores locally and none had it. Found one in the next city over.
I needed a fitting that no one in the Atlanta area had & found this place in LasVegas of all places. Fitting Supply Inc 214-257-8865 Their website shows their part numbers and prices. Email: fittingsupply@gmail.com
