After missing a couple of years went back on Sunday to check this one out. Probably won't go back for a long time. Numbers were way down on my last attendance and hot rods very few and the Hudson the only custom. Pictures tell the story and I had to be satisfied by including some early Holdens that you guys may be interested in. The Black and White taxi was owned by the father of the current owner and he was about 60 years old. It is a 55 model. Also a few 55 Holden utes. The coffin creation was a tribute to George Barris and was called Grandpa's Last Ride
I detect some cynicism implying that Brisbane is a backwater in hot rod/custom events? I didn't say I was looking for a "traditional hot rod and custom event". Just that the event was not well patronized generally. I think I have a reasonably diverse appreciation of all older cars be they cl***ics, hot rods and god forbid even some street rods if essentially done in a traditional way. Totally traditional events are few and far between anywhere in Australia and I prefer a cross section of cars. If you don't like something just walk past.
