That's really sad to hear. Legends like him will never truly die though. Their spirit will live on forever in their work and the hearts and minds of everyone who appreciates it.
    RIP George

  14. George has gotten lots of flack over the years for taking credit for this or that, blah, blah, blah....but our hobby would not be what it is if it weren't for his photography, magazine articles and promotion of customs in the beginning. We owe you a huge debt Mr. Barris, you will be missed.

Very sad indeed. His contributions to the rod and custom world are what drew so many of us in. Thanks George, God Bless.

On November 20, which would have been his 90th birthday, we all need to take a moment and re-style something in his memory.

Sad news to hear. I met him at a show a few years ago in Columbus,Ohio. It was pretty slow at his booth at the time and I talked to him for like 15 minutes. I told him how I had admired him and his work since I was a little kid and what a pleasure it was to get to meet him. He said the pleasure was his and thanked me for taking the time to stop and talk to an old lead slinger like him. He gave me an autographed picture and shook my hand, what a super nice guy, he will be missed by all of us!
