As mentioned, here are some more tribute drawings to the “King”... some based on his cars others inspired by his early stuff...

 

In honor of "George", and in the spirit of "Zupan", I want to offer up these repops...

 

My oddball connection to Mr. Barris...
Back in '08 when Roy Brizio had restored the Ala Kart for John Mumford they asked if I could reproduce the original show sign from 1958. I 'guesstimated' the size based on what it looked like next to the car in a photo they sent me.
The result...

I personally thought it should have had a few more zeros in that 'value' price considering what it cost to restore.
It was also decided to correct all of the misspellings from the original (although, I was tempted to find me some old fart that no one at Brizio's knew so I could have him approach Roy or Bill Ganahl and say, 'When I did that sign back in '58 I spelled some things wrong. Glad to see you fixed 'em' and then walk away. That would have kept them talking for quite some time). So if you've seen it lying on the floor next to the Ala Kart when it is/was shown...now you know where it came from.

 

I have one drawn at the junk yard

 

Fresh off the easel, though there will probably be some tweaks before I really call it finished. Better late than never.
