I bought some old Hot Rod Magazines from '58-'63 yesterday and had some spare time today. This what I did... I think those old classified ads are cool as hell... Oh, and those covers those covers, damn they make me want to buy some frames and hang them on the wall... http://photobucket.com/albums/f9/hotrodz2/ads/ http://photobucket.com/albums/f9/hotrodz2/covers/ Mika
I was looking through my dad's early 70's hemmings the other day and became sick when I saw some of the prices of the cars.
Great job. Took me back to the old days when I didn't have the money to buy the nice one that was all done, like the frame off 40 Ford coupe for 800.00. Today, I couldn't touch one either. The 1000.00 dollar car is probably 20,000 to 30,000. I guess it is all relative. I don't need to complain, I have three cars now. I just wish I had all the ones that I sold and all the ones that I passed by too.
Heres a friend of mine when in high school, he used this track roadster to deliver paint for Stan Betz, in the early 60's
I wonder what ever happened to Craig Breedlove`s 34 coupe? Is it still around? That has to be quite a piece of history by itself! Alway`s been a hero to me. Thank`s for the pics.
I created one more album of those letters that readers have sent to editors! http://photobucket.com/albums/f9/hotrodz2/mails/
Yearh, thanks for sharing!!! Now all I need is a timemachine with room for a car or ten!!! That is in the buy and sell section right?? Mikael
Were those the hot rod mags for sale on Craigslist the other day for $40.00? We missed you Saturday night....
The Aztec was at the Wheels of Time Jamboree Macungie, PA. I think that it was 2004. I tried to put the pick from the old ad but couldn't get it to work. On page one of the ad pics it is line 4 all the way to the right. Hopefully the pic of it as it is now is here. Bill
Glad you guys liked it, I knew Hamb people would understand... Keith, what happened on Saturday? I saw Fishman and others in Puyallup, though... He had bought some old dusty and shitty speedo haha... That's where I bought these magazines...
Thank for posting those 'Tudor! Those are really neat. I love seein' that stuff on here when I log on at night. Even better than naked girls! Usually....depends on the girl.....and the car!
This one is interesting. Looks like the IFS is somewhat traditional in this case. This roadster would be a great find today.
Judging by the money "invested" and the price, looks like a traditional gold chainer owned it as well It looks like a seriously nice car - it would be interesting to see how the tube frame was done as well.
