    Thanks to that great thread by Chopttop, I've been able to get the correct front shoes for my 56 Fairlane. However, I can't seem to locate the rear shoes that would have the self adjusting stuff. Shoes are 11 x 1 3/4.
    How do you look up the repair parts on Rock auto?
    I don't se how to get to the area that might have the self adj hardware.
    Thanks
    Jim

    The kits referenced in fact sticky are for 10" brakes - self adjusters wont work - tried it on my merc
    I used kits for a 74 torino big block for 11" brakes(option that year model)
    Rock Auto link...(74 Torino self adjuster section)
    javascript:YAHOO.widget.TreeView.getNode('livecatalog',489).toggle()

    Self adjusters are pretty much the same from 1964 into at least 1978. The difference between a 10" and 11" kit is the cable length itself.

    Your shoes should be the same as what I have on my '59 and they're from Rock Auto. Just looked.. try the 1.75" wide Raybestos 55SG and they are offered for both cars. With Rock Auto you have to try other models to find the right parts. Mine I found under a Galaxie, yours came up as a Fairlane.

    Just looked up self-adjuster kits (may get myself a pair..) for a 1964 Ford Custom. Those all had 11" brakes. Kits are Wagner H2152 for the left, H2153 on the right.

    the self adjusters that Jeff has in the FAQ area, are for 68 Ford Mustang..I got my at Oriellys..matter of fact I got everything for the brake system, there...in the front of this section there are hundreds of hints and Part Numbers...the guys have went to a lot of trouble to make it easy for all of us...

    Hi Rui
    Not just yet. I have almost all of the front end parts now, but had to order a new upper A arm shaft. Then, I'll begin the re***embly process.
    If the weather cooperates next week, I'll get to it.
    Oh, Thanksgiving got in the way too.
