I too don't have a rim color prejudice. I do however love to be part of good fun and razzing. It for me is just a non-elementary school way of saying I like you and think you're something special, xx, xo. [emoji7]

I hope the judges will be lenient on you and look past the poor wheel color choice to see a beautiful car.[emoji41]

I was the fellow talking to you about your front axle setup. Didn't realize you were a HAMBer until I went back and looked your Chevy over closer and saw the badge and then realized I should have introduced myself. Fred

  14. Hi Fred, good talking to you, look forward to pictures of your 36 and how the brake conversion works out. need any measurements or photos let me know.

Fantastic story and work on your early chevy. Remember, anybody with a Drake catalog can build a ford, it takes real perseverance to do a chevy. Especially like the design of the black and white interior.
I speak from experience having done both.

  19. thanks! it has been a fun project.

  21. DSCF4669.JPG DSCF4670.JPG i bought three of these lights at the fall out. parking lights for a 40 chevy pickup. i am thinking of mounting them to the inside of the fenders to be used for parking and turn signals. a little more traditional than the led i am using now.

  22. i started by sand blasting them and welding up the little holes, then primed them. the original rims were rotten but i found a couple good ones in my stash. i couldn't use the original sockets and reflectors because the 1157na bulbs wouldn't fit, so i pounded a set of reflectors from a sheet of s.s., then trimmed them to fit. So they are going to be red???

  26. thanks, i still don't know if i will use them. i need to find a way to stick them to the fenders so i can stand back and look at them.

    mmmmmred and green.
    thanks.

    no RED!:)
i will paint these green to match the fenders. i think i want to have the rims chromed so they match the head lights. but maybe if they are all green they will blend in better.
    thoughts?

I could dig through my stuff. I used to restore these lights. I think I have some mounts for them if you need them. I also make lenses for these if you need a set. I could make them in amber if you wanted them (I may have a set already done). I also make them in clear and red. I have the mold to cast them. I may also have some buckets and rims.

Can you use a strong magnet inside them to hold them to the fender for pretend time?
