Hi together, just got another Hotrod.
    Beside my 1929 Roadster....
The 29 Sedan is not very traditionell, right now.
But engine is very interesting and traditionell.
1957 392 hemi engine. On the blower is a small sign.
Written on it is "pete's engineering and a adress in michigan.
    I have attached some pix.
I read many things about sneaky pete and wonder if the engine was Build there
Is it thinkable that I got a very rare or special engine...cause of the label on it?
You know, sometimes we got luck.
The blower is no aftermarket thing - right?
The guy from whome I got the Rod has no Idea about american cars and knows nothing about this car....
Thanks for any info and idea about the 392 HEMI...
    Mike

The address on the plate that you show in the photo is the address of Pete Robinsons shop in the sixties. Not sure where Michigan comes into it, maybe language/geography issue? Atlanta and Michigan are a ways apart. Just a guess but possibly just the idler/end-plate came from him. The idler assembly looks like the one he used to sell.

The top pulley is mag, my guess is you have a Pete Robinson blower drive, he sold them. Cool stuff.

Oh, so they don't build engines or blowers, there in Atlanta....?
Also on the arm from the idler is casted "PETE'S", so I guess you are right...
There are some sheets of paper with the car, where they redline the engine by GARFIELD AUTOMOTIVE...perhaps they can tell me more...
    Thanks for your advice.
I Love the engine....here in Germany the superschnelles and 392 Hemis are rare..
    Best Regards
    Mike

Yep, that's a Pete's drive and he's long gone. The top pulley would usually sit further back with the belt inside of idler unlike most you see.

Well, no, he did build blowers, but the ones he actually made were magnesium, and most didn't have the flange. They also usually had "Petes Eng." cast in the upper part of the case, just below where the injector bolted on. That's not what you have there.

FYI; The number "5" after Atlanta indicates a pre zip code mailing area. 5 digit zip codes were brought into effect in the USA in 1963. Mandatory use of them became effective in 1967, hence your part is at least as old as 1967...

Hi my amercan friends, thanks a lot for the very interesting Information.
I found this number in front on the blower under the carbs socket-intake.
    Does it mean something, too?
    Best regards

Loridans drive, Atlanta was where Pete's parents lived. Pete designed parts, had them cast, then sold them out of his parents basement where they were stocked. Anyone remember Lowe Brothers glass in East Point, Ga? The Chrisman 32 roadster lived in their showroom. You could see Petes blower drive through the window if you looked through the window on Sunday afternoon! The roadster later belonged to the Creepers Car Club and they raced and showed it.

I know a Dale Potter in Nashville. Only in his 50's though. Possibly a relative. I'll ask him when I see him. He's into later street machines.

I just googled the address I'm 14miles away. I've only been in Georgia since 98 so it sounds like he was long gone...... Too bad would have been cool since I'm trying to get in to blown hemi's and have not found any local gurus to look to....... If I'm wrong and haven't met the right people yet let me know!

Hi all, Dale Potter answered me many questions about the car. The blower and the belt drive were ordered at pete's engeneering. Dales Dad, Milton Potter, won the 1961 NHRA in the AS/R class with an Modell A Roadster. The BLOWER and BELT DRIVE from the winner car are mounted on my 29 Sedan!! So, I am proud to move a peace of drag race history within my car. Thanks to nightmoves, he gaves me the email-adress from Dale. Now I know very much thinks about the car and can step into the ideas and history.

Hi, just swapped the wheels to classic vintage wheels, there were 90's Weld wheels mounted. Next will be the alloy mirros to change to period corrects.

This is the foto of the NHRA winner car, driven by Milton Potter in year 1961. You can see the blower and the pete's engineering belt drive on the foto...Dale sent me the foto and allowed me to show it.
I love the foto. The hilborn injection was sold by an pre owner of the car...very sad...that would be cool to own it, too.
