I am attempting to upgrade my brake system and I and getting a new master cylinder and booster .My question is there appears to be some type of a red sealant around each connection thread going into the master cylinder and all others .I have tried searching but cannot find what this is and if it should be used .In the past I have used the Earls thread sealant but what to make sure what is proper .

Also forgot is better to go with 1" bore or bigger size for better braking .They are power brakes .

Not positive but the "red" maybe some sort of anti-seize, the Seal on most master cylinders usually depend on the inverted flare metal to metal as a seal and not a sealant per say. Others may have some input on this.

Is there any issue with using a manual master cyl on a brake booster .I found what was originally used on my truck and its what they are calling a manual master cyl but it bolted up to the booster fine .The reason i would like to use it is cause there is a fill hole drilled perfect to fit that combo.

A master cylinder is a master cylinder - it doesn't know what's operating it. The manual will have a much deeper hole for the actuating rod so that it won't fall out. To use a manual with a booster this hole needs to be filled with a bullet type piece - make or buy. Don't forget the output from the booster is adjustable and it's absolutely critical that it is set up correctly.

Try NAPA they have the hardware to match brake lines. Fittings usually come with fittings

Correction mast cyl usually come with fittings. The red stuff is thread sealer and everything I have gotten with the sealer on it says do not use thread sealer of Teflon tape.

The bigger the bore...... the better the ABS effect you have when you late-brake into a corner

The master cylinder needs to be sized to fit with the calipers you are using. What size are the pistons in the calipers? What did the calipers come off of originally? What is your pedal ratio? If you can answer these questions I can give you a recommendation as to the bore size that will work. If you can give me the original application I can look it up that way.
