Oh man, I buy every Ventures record I find. I had no idea they were still around! I wish I could come see that concert.
run, don't walk to get your tickets... or the other way around. I'm going to have to see when they come down here, I didn't know they were still around either... they are my Dad's fave... So I grew up with them playing on his Wollensak.
They were the first 8track tape I ever bought , never could get it to play right in my old fairlane. Wish I could be there.

Glad to see so many fellow Ventures fans on the board! Mel really did pull off a coup in getting the guys for a night... And doing a Ventures gig poster has been on our top 5 want list since the beginning! For your pleasure - here is Surfink playing a Kukelele... Also, for the record, the Ventures lost their original drummer a while back, but the core of three guitarists have managed to tour non-stop. They remain heroes in Japan and we hope they will be around and appreciated by younger audiences for a LONG time to come... Thanks! Johnny & Kali
Johnny is right about them losing there drummer a few years back but I read his son stepped in to play with them. Not sure if he is still doing that or not because it has been a number of years. Also like he said, they stay in Japan most of the year.I had always wondered why they played there so much and after reading alot of articles about them, and searching websites, I read that during the 60's the Ventures outsold the Beatles in record sales by 3 to 1 in Japan.
Did they make it into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame yet? I heard a rumor they still hadn't been inducted.\ They should have been a**** the first. .
