Hi I got a 36 ford coupe delivered to my house since I'm in the middle east and couldn't get it myself. But the ol lady sent me a picture of the ignition switch and it's missing and she said that she has to put the switch to on and push a ****on on the dash. Question does anyone have a ignition switch with a key for sale for this and how do I wire it back to how it was before. Does the ignition switch actually turn on power to anything or just a lock for the on off switch?

I think there is a man on Fordbarn that might be able to make it operable.

  5. I went though this on my '47, the aftermarket ones are JUNK......try to find a good used or NOS one. I know places sell the whole column drop with the switches in good used and rebuilt (Early Ford store in San Dimas and CW Moss in Orange). Look on Ford Barn and Ebay (Were I got mine).

A good locksmith can most likely make a key for the current cylinder in the lock you have.
