There is so much kool stuff in there I took three hundred pics when I was there a couple years ago sad part is I don't have one of a whole car lol I was starting the build on my digger and was really intrested in clutch linkage ch***is components steering linkages brake setups and all the detail stuff one thing for sure there is more stuff in that place than a guy can absorb in one day

It makes me want to put a hemi in the 56. But the pockets aren't that deep right now.

I am right in between you guys at 26 and trying to build a period 56 as well. I'll be lucky if a have it done by the time I am 30. Meltdown 2020 better watch out boys! I have a lot a parts rounded up and about everything bought to build a decent little 327. At least I have my daily driver 57 wagon to take in the meantime. Really enjoying your build fast30.

Even a 'mild' 350 under a 6-71 oughta make 500hp. The mill in mine makes about 400 I'd guess. It went 116 mph at MoKan, and it weighs right at 3000 with me in it, so whatever that comes out to be...

I'd love to make the meltdown but man is that a long haul from CO. HAMB drags is still a long way, but better. We got some time yet, and you bet I'll be following your winter progress...

Those pics of the Garlits museum are awesome! Never seen a collection of speed equipment like that before...magnesium torq thrusts everywhere!! Haha

Got a little time in during the holiday after returning from Florida. I wasted to run my brake and fuel lines before I put the floor back in. So here's the brake line.
First I made a tool for straightening the line.

Then bent the stainless line made a tab for the back and mounted the proportioning valve. I'm happy with how it came out.

I'm not looking forward to the fuel line. That will go further forward and further back.

Threw down a little more lead tonight. It's not perfect but it will do the job.

Thanks. I just felt that was to big of gap to fill with the mudd. Working with the lead is fun and rewarding even though I feel like I file most of it off. I would like to watch Bill Hines and see how how much he files off.

But that is the good part about leading. Put some paper down then collect all the shavings melt them down and use again. Can't do that with mud.

Spent an hour and a half in the garage today. Should've done more but was suffering from a severe case of jet lag. It was warm here in Chicago so I painted the inner rockers. I wanted to do this but though I missed my window.
Next I'll bend a fuel line. I took off the week between Christmas and New Years to thrash on the car.

Well racer x set me up with his metal finisher so I'll be going there on Tuesday. I had to take the paint off the roof. This has opened a can of worms and I think I've lost my mind.

Now all the paints coming off

I figured this would happen eventually. I think the car will be in primer this year at least.

A week off of work I hope to get some stuff done. Today I finished sanding the car down. I was hoping to be heading to wisconson tomorrow but plans have changed we will see what happens.

I also managed to get the top of the firewall welded in the cowl. Before I couldn't get in here and was just going to weld it from the inside of the car.
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1451362808.758084.jpg
The p***enger side was to high I think from the heater so I used the torch and water and shrunk the metal.
Welds look bad but it works

Tomorrow I'm going to try to make a back brace for the rear end. We will see gotta find some 2x4

Well finally got the back brace done. It took me half a day to make a good template. I'll finish weld it when I put new ends on. It was hard to resist the temptation of welding the whole thing but I knew it would warp.
    I started with a piece of 2x3

Haha funny you say that. Before cutting it out and not having faith in my templates I looked up an art Morison one and was about to call and ask the total length. This was a good accomplishment. I was at a point after stripping the paint where I didn't feel I was making any progress it was freezing in the garage. Then when I got both halves cut and on there it was motivated again and remember why I'm doing this.
