Has anybody had any luck making a new rubber disk for a rag joint. I have a 57 Cadillac and its torn now so bad that the car is un-drivable. Going to yank it out of the car once I can get the car cooled down a bit.

Non of the local part houses carry the part or even have a reference number. If its not reparable is the 57 Chevy rag joint the same as on the Cadillac's? they have everything for the Chevy but no cross reference numbers.

    That is what I need.

Now if I could just get the thing out of the car. Rubber let go completely when I started on the repair and now I cannot get anything onto the dowels to remove the nuts attaching it to the steering box.

I remember that there were 2 types in the "help"/Motormite section at work. But the actual rubber part was the same on both kits.
They use to be available at most auto parts.

Got to love orilly. Had the darn thing in stock. 8$ later and the car tracks better then it ever has. Had the radial tires put on today as well which was a night and day difference as well. Had to pull the whole column to get it in.
