"A date that shall live in infamy". Very few of the greatest generation left that served to protect our freedom. Congratulations to all who served and those serving today as well.
Amen Tim, I had an uncle that was on the USS Oklahoma there. He survived, and when he was able to resume they transferred him to the USS Denver where he finished out the war in the Pacific theater. I took this picture of the #2 Forward turret at the Arizona Memorial several years ago.
Was there a few days ago, a very moving place. Thankyou to all the brave men and women who gave their lives for our freedom.
Amen--have a relative entombed in the Arizona. I was raised around many WW Two vets and my stepdad flew 17's out of England as well. They were a hardy bunch. They are all gone now. God Bless and thanks to all who serve today.
Hard to imagine what it must have been like that day...and for that matter the next several years. Now with them mostly gone and those of us who heard the stories getting older, I only hope we can keep the memories alive.
