Probably never... This coupe has been sliced and diced and been given a blend of old school custom and hotrod design. Jason Graham Hot Rods of Portland, TN transformed this "Ugly Duckling" of an original car into this magnificent "Taildragger" Ch***is: The original frame was stripped down to the bare rails and a new TCI Mustang II front suspension was added to the front with disc brakes and rack and pinion steering. A triangulated 4-link locates a 10-bolt GM rear. The rear section of frame received a 4 inch c-notch to make clearance for the drop of the full air-ride from Pro Built Suspensions in Louisville, KY. All this rolling on 5.70 x 15 Coker WWW. The wheels are 15" powdercoated steelies with spider rings and bullet lug nuts. Drivetrain: 1960 Chevy 348 topped with 6 Strombergs. All new engine with Offy intake that's ceramic coated for easy clean up, Comp "mother thumper" cam, Petronix electronic ignition, and custom built lake style headers with baffles. Mooneyes fully polished finned valve covers finish dressing it up. Backed by a 700R overdrive transmission for lots of highway cruising. Body: The original body was chopped 5 inches in front and 6 inches in the rear. Bringing the rear window forward and laying it down. Also eliminating the rear qtr windows creating a 3 window coupe. The stamped original body line was removed and new chrome moldings were custom fabricated to add some style. The hood side were cut to allow room for the headers and the front vents in the fenders were removed. The rear fenders were welded and molded into the body and custom skirts added. The trunk is shaved and new stainless smoothie bumpers are tucked in tighter to the body. The grill is new rechromed original and new handles and grill ornament. Frenched headlight rings in front and modified 59 Caddy taillights in the original 39 buckets bring up the rear. All this covered with a custom mix of "Smoke Grey" DuPont paint and hand pinstriping by Rick Harris. Interior: Features a highly modified 1960 Impala dash filled with Cl***ic Instrument gauges. Ididit column topped with a 15 inch 55 Chevy wheel all coated in satin maroon to match the maroon distressed leather. All new interior handles and gl*** finish it out. This car has won many awards all summer long including the "Golden Builder" award and many Goodguys awards, Street Rodder Top 10 and Detroit Autorama. It has been featured in the Performance and Hot Rod Business magazine, also shot for up coming issue of Street Rodder. It is truly a show stopper everywhere it goes!!!
