History BCCCA Jack Williams Chopped Shoebox in 1955

I came across a photo taken in Vancouver, B.C. Canada, the event was the Pacific National Exhibition parade on Hastings Street on Aug of 1955, I believe the photo is of the late Jack Williams custom Ford which had a Cadillac V12 motor.

 

Good looking car. Looks like a shoe horn fit on the engine. I like the side trim as well.

 

That would be the (BCCCA ), BC Custom Car ***ociation, about two years before the (BCHRA), BC Hot Rod ***ociation was formed.

 

Yes the side trim was from a 53 Buick, and the car looked like this later on.

 

OK, sorry I will make that correction.

 

The car is on Vancouver Island, but I understand does not have the same power plant installed by Jack Williams back in the day.

That would be a '51 Meteor grille. Be interesting to see this one. I've been on the Island over 40 years and have never seen this car at any shows or rod runs.
