I have a few bottles of whitewall cleaner from god knows when....red and white bottle with a man in a pin-striped suits and spats on....Cool stuff.
Recent & freebies. The Turtle wax bottles are dated 1961 (my car & I) & 1965. Both nearly full. The tire cleaner is nearly full as well.
Damnit Moriarity! You are killing me. Everytime I look at one of your threads I get to thinking I need some of those. That is all I need. I already collect old car magazines and hot rod stuff especially chevy valve covers and hot wheels as well as other bits and pieces.
well, I do have a can of wax somewhere, I have one of those Simonize ones. must be in a box from when I moved 20 years ago.. all I have right now is a box of wax with a 1942 Oldsmobile on it. inside the box are waxed paper cubes, inside the cubes is powder which I hope is not toxic because I just got it all over me. you mix it with water and you have Auto Glaze
WOW!! I have to get a few cans outta the box and on to the shelf. I know theres a can of Pierce Arrow running board cement in there. I also have an unopened bottle of "Rexall, beef wine and iron tonic", that scares the crap outta me.
now you guys have gone and done it, I found myself looking at some wax cans at the swap meet this weekend. had to slap my hand and tell myself to put them down.
Really cool collection and variety of cans here! I don't own any, but this thread brings to mind the old Fibber McGee and Molly radio show that was sponsored by Johnsons Wax (with frequent plugs woven into the story line by Harlow Wilcox). I also remember seeing a television commercial when I was a little kid for (if I remember correctly) Rally Car Wax, with Pat Paulsen going through a car wash on a golf cart.
I remember using that stuff to put stencils on the storm door at Christmas- snow men, holly, snow flakes , etc. That was a LONG time ago! (50's) Neat thread.
