Well after years of sitting I have dragged out the 51. I am working to get this project up and going quickly I hope.
t Got a little done tonight, taking front sheet metal off to take a look at suspension. Well when I bought the car and pulled it under the shed, not a gl*** was broken, now looks like the driver side has been shot out.
I know the hood and grill is different, but will 50 fenders fit on a 51? Don't have to be direct I can modify and drill holes if needed.
You would need the whole clip including rad cradle and hood latch, it will then be a direct bolt on.. Larry
Okay thanks for all the info, got a little done over the break. I went and got a donor motor and trans for the shoebox. Had to help a guy take a car apart and he give me the motor and trans. Started working on the clip.
Thanks for the compliment FireCat7, I have worked on the building for years, never have completed it. Its a good place to work, but it is full of projects that I need work on.
Thanks. It sure took a while doing it in my spare time - longer than I thought it would ... And it still isn't done . I restore vintage British cars for a living , so working on the Penny Pincher was nothing too big for me (so far ) . I hate finish bodywork, so that will most likely take me a while, lol ! I'll be watching your build for sure. It's good to see the kids helping you out . It's all about memories to me ...
Well got the frame connected. Took a little longer than expected, I put the frame in up 2-1/2 inches higher to help the stance in the end. I got to finish up the grinding and try make it look a little cleaner.
