...ebay auction #4616318447...maybe one of you computer gurus could put the link on here please...it's sooo purdy. Pauls coupe is in the background.
I hope he is luckier this time at ebaying it, it's a beauty. Would love to see it in person, I guess I will have to settle with that future R&C feature...
I love that car. I remember the thread in which lots of people said, "it has no charm, it's too clean, etc." but to me, it's just about perfect.
That man is blessed with more talent than 10 people ought to be. Everything he touches just has the LOOK . Frank
sweet lord jesus I spent an hour looking at those photos. It says he is running an alt but I dont see it. does anyone know this guy?, is there a magazine keeping the wraps on the blue one? I feel like a teen in love.
I'm curious... was this was the roadster that Billy Gibbons bought? Whatever the case, it's perfect-o-tacular. Not to threadjack, but if anybody is interested in buying an inexpensive Rodriguezmobile, click on the "1923 steel T hot rod" link in my signature.
Yes. Rudy is a really nice guy and builds some damn fine hot rods. I don't think I've seen anything come out of his garage I didn't like. That car is perfect.
Zenor I think its a different one. I actually believe the one he built for gibbons is in the peterson museum right now for some new display they have "hot rods and rock and roll" or something like that. I know the guy who helps set up the **** at the peterson museum. I haven't been able to confirm gibbons roadster being in the display but from what he described it sounded like it and I also thought I saw it on the news on tv.
So I'm looking at the pictures and reading what you've all said and it's unanimous... it's a truly beautiful car. I must confess, I don't know who Rudy is. I have thousands of magazines, but that car and his name aren't jumping out at me. Perhaps someone will clue me in. But here's my thought. Have we come to a point in this "hobby" (obsession, is more what it is for me) where you can only sell on eBay or Barrett-Jackson? To get absolute top dollar, we are confined to these two venues? What ever happened to.... "I'm thinking of selling my '29 roadster.... I've got 25K tied up in parts.... 2 years of my time.... and my buddies agree with me that it's really sweet.... I'd be happy to get $55 000 for it" and then frickin' advertise and see if the rest of the world agrees? Is it a case of trying to wring every last penny out of potential buyers? I wonder if we aren't making this eBay / Barrett-Jackson mentality thing worse ourselves by thinking that mere advertising could get us "our price"?
Rudy builds awesome cars. I hope to shake his hand someday. BTW if you don't know, he built the blue 3 window too.
That car is so cool...you should see it in person. Photos don't do it justice. Supposed to go to Rudy's with Plan9 and Pockets one of these days. I gotta make some time I guess.
Thanks Larry... I thought the Gibbon roadster was a Deuce. Rudy has an almost preternatural ability to craft cars that are extremely traditional, and at the same time totally fresh.
i just realised "that thing" with the coupe is tommorow... and i gotta work rudy is tops in my book... along with jimmy white. down to earth people.
Hey I'm no doctor but I think you have a serve case of "ergophobia" coming on. Should be full blown by tomorrow AM. Take two speed shifts in a race car and call me on Monday! Back to my coffee break. a fear of work, if you're wondering.
It has met the reserve..... So someone is getting a new roadster..... $40,100 with 7 days to go... IMHO.........that's a bargain...... You know the $$$ will go up when it is closer to the auction closing....
The Blue 32 3W is up on eBay also....... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1932...4618398051QQcategoryZ6057QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Knowing how eBay goes....it is most likely way out of my financial rearch...... But I like it......
