did edmunds ever make a 4bbl flathead intake? Were these for the early or late engines? Just wondering as I'm going to look at an engine the guy claims has one of these. I always thought offy and edelbrock were the only 4bbl intakes for flattys.
Yeah they did. It's definately not as common as Edlebrock or Offy. Fenton & Navarro did as well. The Navarro piece is real cool for the bell crank linkage for an old square 4 bbl. was part of the manifold. Neat stuff.
Edmunds? I don't believe so... Grind off everything but the E in Edelbrock and tell everyone it used to say edmunds
I can guarantee you that Edmunds made a single quad for flatheads...I sold one for a friend a couple years ago. It was flanged for the small bolt pattern 4gc/wcfb type carb, of course, and was for the '49-'53 engines.
YES... Edmunds did make a 4bbl flattie intake ive got the only one ive ever seen so it must be rare its made for the late flathead. if you have any questions or want more pics just email or PM me.
SO the fact is, most makers of aftermarket Ford flathead manifolds made a version of 4bbl carb manifold, most for 49-53 engines. Another thing to look for everwhere you go.
from george mcnicholl's "how to build ford flathead horsepower." the road draft hole is blocked and an early type fuel pump/breather stand is used.
