    Hello, my name is Alex.

Long time lurker first time poster. Made an account back in 07 or so but never posted anything.

I have a '49 Chevy coupe I'm about to start building. I picked it up exactly as it sits. Also, strangely, it had a George Barris signature on the dash. Not sure if it's authentic though.

Plans are to basically start from the bottom and go up. Remove the frame, clean/paint etc. Patch panels then start on the customizing.

I'll make a build thread after this with a story.

Hi & welcome. I had a similar 49 back around 1955 - 57 when I was in High School. I went twice a week for a half day each my last 2 years in high school to the local State ran trade school & took paint & body and I had some fun doing some custom work on that one. I do not have any photo's of that car & I really regret that.
Post back & let us know where you are located as there may be some HAMB members nearby for help or ***istance. Also post photo's of the 49 as you build.

    Hey Jimmie, thanks a lot!

    I'm in Mesa AZ.

Sounds like your old 49 was a ton of fun!

I will definitely post up photos on my build thread as soon as I start tearing into it.
