I am about to purchase a 53 chevy that has some things done fatman mustang 2, pontiac 400 mated to chevy 350. How could I make a windshield? How could I get front lower? They installed the brake booster under car and brake pedal is very close to gas pedal how could I fix that also is the steering wheel need to be that close to dash. Thanks for any info given.

You'll need to buy a windshield unless you're really good at molding lexan. The steering wheel is just about where it needs to be for that car. Might be off just a bit but it is close.

You can probably bend the brake pedal over by heating it. Moving the booster over might be a better idea. Either way you may need to cut another slot for it.

so, why are you possibly buying this car? roof does not look chopped so, buy stock windshield, etc. dropped front spindles should help with lowering. looks like motor is at a steep angle. have fun

How low do you wan the front to be? It looks like it's already pretty low, going much lower could make it hard to drive anywhere. Looks like there are already air springs in the front, so parking height could be lower than where it sits in the pictures.

What look are you going for? Some lowering blocks out back would help even out the current 'rake'.

The whole rear lower section behind the rear wheels and under the deck lid looks really weird. Engine is at a steep angle which is clearly incorrect. Looks like the spring hat is not fully welded. And the front fender figment looks weird. It all points to sub par work at best done to the car in my opinion.
This car looks like a can of worms to me.
So I hope someone knowledgable looked at it for you, and/or you're getting it for real cheap.
That's what it looks like to me from here anyway.

If you haven't made the deal, try to find a local Hamber in your area to help you check it out. I've done it for others and had others do it for me.

That car just looks like it is going to need a lot of work. I don't know your skill level but by some of the questions your asking maybe its a little too much to take on? It really looks like your going to get in deep on this one. If you buy it I'm sure you can get some good help from guys on here.

When you go to look again, get some pictures of the steering box and how it's mounted, more pictures of the front suspension, especially the welds holding it to the frame, and the bodywork below the trunk lid. Then post them here.

A 53 coupe is a neat car and if the price is right, this one is worth building. But I don't trust the work that's been done to it, based on what I see.

Your local auto gl*** shop should be able to put in a new windshield, for about the same cost as any windshield of similar size. I am guessing $300 - $400 but haven't bought one in some time.

I didn't look at the pictures but if the work done is questionable, run away. It is very hard to fix a butchered car. Unless you are an experienced builder it would be practically impossible.
