Yes, I thought about that also. That way I would be sure of the location. Don't tease me with beauties like that. Mutual friend? Mine will show up one of these days that I can afford.

Tim, I am sure you saw this one on FB for $35K. He also purchased a 33 from the same location. I am always a day late and a dollar short!

Probably worth the money but I only need the body!

Rich is keeping this one for himself….33's are keepers!

Another problem I encounter this morning is that front rails seem to bow in toward the center causing the sides to not be perpendicular to the frame jig. As I recall, they should be perpendicular not bowed in. I can pull them with a clamp but they will not stay as there are no cross members other that the engine mounts. Any ideas — twisting with a big bar and a little heat @#$%^?

    IMG_4387.jpg
The front rails bow in about 1/4" on both sides. I can pull them in but they won't stay after removing the clamp and will pull in farther when finished welding.

    IMG_4388.jpg
Here is close up of the rails showing the bow inward.

I'd try jacking them out "heavy" with hydraulics and see where they relax to.

Yeah I could've bought the 33 or the 34 for 28k each but the 6 inches of rac**** poop sitting on the floor turned me off. I know they were probably worth it but I didn't want to pay that much and then have to replace the whole lower part of each panel. I got lucky around the same time and found a cleaner body for a lot less money. They are definitely getting hard to find

Is that the roadster from Bill Metz in Springfield, OH that he sold?

Making some progress on the ch***is over the holidays. I need to stay focused and finish it but until I locate a body for final fitting I am going slow. I am looking for a Wescott or SAR body.
    IMG_5253.jpg
The center section came out as I wanted and should be real strong and provides room for a 700-4R transmission.

Final boxing should be complete over Christmas.

Bill did own a 34 roadster he purchased years ago from a 34 guy in Springfield. I saw it on the HAMB this year and thought it was in MI some place. If was a basket case but savable.

Bill Metz sold the 34 a couple of years ago and it did go to Michigan. His 32 Roadster also sold about 2 years ago as well. He is back in what is left of his original shop and I heard that he also has the place next door but cannot confirn that.

The project is back in the garage and I have started working again on locating a body. Here are a couple. One was on the HAMB and another I found on Fordbarn. I haven't been able to locate any whole cars but parts seem to be out there.
Both are big projects for a 75 year old but you gotta start somewhere.

I am back on the roadster project after some health issues but may put a Phaeton body on the ch***is. I have one located that is in good shape but someone cut it in half to store it.#$%&^ I can put it back together if I can make a deal. I haven't seen a Wescott, SAR or original body for sale in the last year or so. Phaetons seem to be more plentiful in our area.

    IMG_2703.jpg
This would be the easiest to build and be HAMB friendly! I would like an original ch***is with this style.

One of my favorite looks for a Phaeton.

Fenders are nice on a 33 like this one and the Buick is too big for me (note firewall).

If my ship comes in then this one by Brizio would be in the garage.

This is a perfect one to find and finish. Stay Tooned!

Guess what popped up on ebay today! Not sure what these FG bodies bring today so it will be interesting to follow the bidders. I could be happy with a Wescott body.

I cannot fault this observation, the tank does hide the QC on my car a bit but I didn't add it for other people to look at, I did it because I wanted a QC.

Victoria Secret sells a fortune in frilly undies to women that don't walk around all day flaunting it to everyone. Chicks buy it because it makes them feel ***y...and my cars one ***y ***** baby, yeah!

I'd rather drive without a license plate than without a Quickchange!

Pew, mine is a Speed 33 body with 34 grille, flathead and a late 50's early 60's traditional "styling". It is loose styling as I enjoy doing my own thing. I don't have a lot of pics of the car mocked up and I am tearing it down for paint now so I can drive it next year.
The car is up in Centralia at Swedberg's this week having a "ventilated" hood top built for it but I had this one on my phone from last year while I was mocking it up.
    upload_2016-8-29_13-49-8.png
here's one with the top up before I added the door hinges. It has commercial 34 headlights when it is all ***embled. Preparing to paint the frame and body this winter...gloss black of course.

Not everyone's bailiwick but it sure as hell is mine.

Cool roadster. I like the"loose" styling. Sometimes picking a certain era can be a little restrictive. Keep us posted on the progress.
