Greetings to all from Indianapolis! The snow is gone, the sun is shining, and I have finally acquired garage space! I bought this 53 Chevy right before the snowfall and haven't had a chance to mess with her much. Looks like that' about to change! The previous owner ran this car for about 3 years up in Toledo Ohio, blew up the original motor, replaced it with a sb350, 4brl, and took out the power glide and matched up a standard automatic trans that apparently is really good at loosing fluid. He had rear brake issues of some sort, cut and capped the rear lines and was only relying on the front drums. It only has about 6 inches of pipe coming off the headers, and the few times I got her started last fall almost g***ed me to death. When I opened the drivers door it looked like I had a fog machine running in there. So needless to say, I've got some work to do before I can get this thing to the drive in this summer. I'll keep the updates coming now that I finally have something to post about on here!
Looks like I nice project.I like it.And I have been there with the exhaust system cough! with the 56 buick wagon.Bruce.
Thanks Guys! You're right, it is just a 210. First post and I've already learned something. I like this place. Before I was always under the ***umption that BelAir was a blanket term with the three cl***es of trim selection in it. But my research did prove otherwise.... So this raises a new question for me, When I take the ***le to get transferred into my name, should I keep it as a BelAir or have it changed to 210? Someone along the line got confused like I did and ***led her as the BelAir model. Not that the ***le stating the better model would make or break a deal for someone in the future, but It's just something to consider now.
your local tax office may not want to change the ***le to a 210,,,they think you are ***ling a different car,,,had it happen to me
