Both my '67 and '69 Camaro's were built at Van Nuys and my dad was a zone service rep for Chevrolet. The pic is legit. One of my favorite threads to watch even though it'll drift out of bounds every now and then

Now that's a picture I'd be right at home in - the familiar green Coleman gasoline stoves (one of them a three-burner), red Coleman lanterns to light the campsite, sturdy "chuck" boxes to hold utensils and dishes, and even a dutch oven ready for making delicious apple cobblers for dessert!

My first car (in 1976) was a 62 EJ Holden Premier - lowered with big 14" alloy wheels, flared guards, EH bonnet, red six, extractors and split dual exhaust, HR disc brake front-end - Wow, what a hottie.
I got stopped by the coppers all the time - mostly just to check out my car and 'chat'. Only got a ticket twice, though I probably deserved more.
Thanks for posting a great picture Rodney.

  23. Claypoole apartments 1110 SW Clay. 1964. PSU photo. Wonder how many Portland State University students lived there over the years while going to school. It's still there and going strong. Surprising that Portland hasn't knocked it down in their head scratching rush for new buildings.

    Really good postings Maggie.
I went back to school at PCC in 2005 (at 50 years old), went downtown to PSU during this time, and the parking (lack of), is insane.

My information was from Michael Lamm's Book "The Fabulous Firebird"and my own ownership of the FIREBIRD that I owned for 2 decades, and still have the window sticker of when it was purchased.
In his book it states "The 1st FIREBiRDS were assembled in G.M.A.D.'s Lordstown, OH. plant In 1968 the Van Nuys Plant joint F-Car production as did Norwood in 1969"

In Going through G.M. Heritage Center.com I came across the an early Sept 1966 printing of Camaro Specs. It does indeed say L. for Los Angeles and N. for Norwood. Based on that spec sheet which is thru my former employer G.M. where I worked during the time the V.N. Plants Closure, I stand corrected in the post of the Van Nuys Assembly Plant Picture. As you wrote Larry, "The Pic is Legit"
    Thanx for the schooling ;).

In 1969 I bought a new 69 Firebird at Burlingame Pontiac. It was built in the Van Nuys plant. It had a three speed that said FoMoCo on it.
