Looks like a lot of them have been converted to Russian diesel engines as well by the size of the tail pipes

Most are used as taxi cabs.

Not to Hi Jack your thread, but just a few I took a couple of years ago. There was actually some very nice preserved cars there. But VERY VERY EXPENSIVE and mostly passed on from generation to generation.

Cool pics. Even a Morris Minor thrown in there

  24. It is a testament to the ingenuity of the Cuban people that have been able to keep their beloved American cars on the road after the embargo that prevented the Cubans from importing or buying parts from the states.

These owners have had to source parts from Russia & other country's but continue to make the cars road worth, makes me appreciate just how easy it is for us to get the parts we need. HRP

I have often thought the Cubans were some of the most resourcefull when it comes to their cars, it is obvious they have not had an easy go of it.
Never had anyone explain why there is such a high number of four doors.
Seems nearly the same way in Australia.

  26. The more I see the cars in cuba I can't help but wounder did only more doors get sent there. Very few 2 door cars. Even watching the show Cuban crome didn't see any.

4 doors, 2 doors, Jim Morrison! Makes no difference to me. What really amazes me is the fact that those cars have survived all that salty air.

Amazing! Do you think that the day will ever come when any of those cars
will be allowed to be sold to folks in the USA?
