What diameter exhaust pipes and mufflers are suitable for this application. I fear that the stock ones are too small.

Is your engine stock, or has it been worked up a little? Do you plan on running stock exhaust manifolds or headers? The exhaust shop I like to use always said 2 inch dual exhaust was enough for a small block, but he put on a lot of 2 1/4 and some 2 1/2. Also different size of pipes can change the sound, depends on what you like.

Because of the bends to exit through the ovals in the frame 2" would be easier to work with anything larger would be more of a challenge not to rub.

I have headman headers going in. The engine is around 350 horse so it is beefed up a bit. Looks like 2" is the way to go. That's what I needed to know. Thank you so very much.

I'm running a 2" dual system with 23" Smithy's on my slightly warmed over 302 and couldn't be happier... as others have said any larger and it would be a trick trying to run it through the angled ch***is braces in the front.

At least 2 1/4" and 2 1/2 if you plan any future power mods.
