Removed the lowering blocks. The difference in driving it is like night and day. Everything is so much better and smoother.

Having fun taking apart heads for the first time to port/polish and do the valves.
I got these Sportsman 2.02/1.6 heads in a trade, along with Harland Sharp roller rockers. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1433518489.761592.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1433518532.434697.jpg

After fighting an overheating issue for a while, I think I have (hopefully) solved the problem.
Aluminum performance radiator, and dual fans from an LS1 Camaro producing 9500cfm.
It was a lot of work fitting it in the Merc, but I'm pleased with it.

After 3 different sets of headers, I quit. Lol.
I will be removing my Sportsman II heads and ordering something new with straight plugs, so I can use my original chrome headers and not have to make any adjustments to my exhaust.

Got the Desoto grill rough cut for the Merc. Still have to shape it and scallop out the back for a flush fit, but I'm digging it.
I know Desoto grills from other years are common on Mercurys, but I've never seen this one used and I think it's going to look great. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1438135270.299971.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1438135330.991826.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1438135374.579778.jpg

LOOKING GOOD! Shape it,and be done. I went with manifolds so I wouldn't have to play the pipe game....I'm not racing it,so it didn't matter........ Carry on!

Ok. Doesn't look much different, but new heads are on. Straight plugs this time, so headers fit with no issues.
Will hopefully have it running again in the next few days.
