Does anyone know where drooped spindles are available for a 1941 Plymouth? I'm not really wanting to install a brand new front end (due to cost with 2nd kid on the way) but I still want to lower the front. Right now there are 3" lowering blocks in the rear and the front coils had 1 coil removed. I like the rear height but the front still sits too high. I probably really only need another 1"-1.5" lower in the front. Just don't know about hitting the bump stops up front. Any advice is appreciated.
Pretty Sure Fatman Fab makes drop up rights for it. You could also lower the spring seats from on top of the lower A arms to under them.
As Terraizer writes, an easy and cheap way to lower your Plymouth is to drill out the rivets that holds the coilspring support plate and move it down to the under side of the lower control arms. This way you will gain a 2” drop for the price of 12 bolts, washers and nuts, It’s about the same drop as a pair of dropped uprights from Fatman fabrication... Not so bad! Before After My 40 coupe with the above modification.
Stock shocks should work fine, moving the upper shock mount from the upper control arm to the frame really helps with the ride of these plymonths.
Here's the Early Mopar Shock thread: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/shock-mounts-for-older-mopars-tech.215548/
If I have already cut one coil in the front can I relocate the plate support as well? Only have about 1.5" before hitting the bump stops.
Thanks for all the help. Only had this car since late March and most of the effort so far has been fixing necessary mechanicals.
