Thinking about welding up the top insert and wonder what donor car roofs work/fit best.

A Ford Granada had the right contour for our first. I'm looking for another roof panel for my current project. I worry about the fact that many roof panels are now bonded to the under structure with adhesives. A 3 ft x x4 ft panel is all I need.

Thanks. Not as easy to find as they used to be. Just picked it up today after having a new windshield , and the broken glass on the driver's door and quarter replaced.

Looking for a front seat for an '48-49 Anglia or a pair of front seats from a Thames. Can anyone give me a lead on any in the US? Don't need anything but the frame as it will a be redone, we have one, was told the Thames will fit but they are different than Anglia so I will need a pair for a matched set. Baron that is some car!!!!!! Ours came from MA but it sure didn't look like that......

I too am looking for a front seat - but I prefer a bench seat up there. It looks real bad when somebody jams two buckets together to fit a narrow car. I have used a narrowed bench seat from a Ford Courier pickup truck. The back folds forward. If you want buckets try to find ones from an early Econoline or Dodge A100 van, as the engine hump in the middle of the front left very little room for a bucket so they were narrow.

Barron that is one cool car^^^^^^ and I love Anglia race cars, but that would make an awesome street rod with a turbo-ed V-6 or super duty 4 cyl. and maybe a 5 speed, stock firewall and just enough tire to fit under the fender maybe a mini tub. A stock hood no scoop. Boy I could go on. Again really nice car, enjoy no matter what you do.

My fake gasser thing as I bought it. 283/glide/Borg Warner rear and standard Anglia front. Slowly collecting parts to make a proper racer.

Body is mint and the cage/chassis is well built, just need to update the suspension. Power will be SBC or Pontiac

Thanks Pat. I agree with you 100%. I really like the way this one is done. Almost a sleeper.

I saw fellow HAMBER Hoop at the Hot Rod Reunion today and he told me he just bought this Popular. Told me he has no concrete plans for it yet, but sure looks like a great start! Congratulations Hoop !

  18. I asked this a little earlier in the thread. Is there enough room to re-drill the 4-lug front drums to 5-lug. Or does anyone have 4-lug,5-window aluminum slots for sale?

    Hey guys,
Lot of Anglias here, how's about a Prefect, '49 with Essex V6, with extensive head work, 3.2 litres, quite torquey, lovely little car equals mucho fun ! Just literally had the grill rechromed to lose the street rod look completely. 29. I sold the Blair's Anglia, which I had owned for over 20 years and did the complete restoration on. I couldn't imagine what life would be like without one, so 20 minutes later I got this one.
    baby Blue.jpg

It was built by Dean Kirsten of Anglia Obsolete using all the best stuff - If a part wasn't up to snuff, he had N.O.S. parts in stock and ready to go. It is pretty damn close to perfect. It's fun to drive, even though it has 925HP less than the last one! The 10HP motor did turn a stellar 25 Second 1/4 mile time! That's right, almost half a minute!

    That's quite a peach Don!
I heard that the three slot grills are kind of rare.
