After spending 8 years with motorcycles it is time to get back to 4 wheels so the kids can travel with us.

I am in the process of looking to get a running/driving car my son and I can work on during his childhood. I am looking at a 1954 Chrysler New Yorker 4 door with a 331 2bbl. The car runs great and has very little rust (AZ car). It is not a show car but has a good look.. I do not see many of these up for sale or talked about on here and am worried that it isn't a desirable car on the resale market, should I decide to sell int he future. Does anyone have another forum resource for the early Hemi cars or input on these?

    Thanks
    Chuck

Welcome to the HAMB Chuck....before you get too far into your project.check with the AACA for what car is actualy a "CL***IC"....that term is highly misused on cars that are just "special interest"...

I went to AACA site and to be totally honest it seems that the consensus is I can call my whatever I choose as DMV is not even consistent. Unless I am buying a vintage Ferrari or alike that would be considered a "collector car" that has major resale and collection value upside.
I understand some people in select elite car groups are stuck in calling certain cars vintage, collector or cl***ics based on their predetermined set of rules butIi am not a member of that club so I will choose to say I am getting back in Cl***ics.

I do appreciate the time I spent on AACA though, thanks for recommending me go there

  4. The State of Ohio considers vehicles that are 15 to 24 years old (from current year) to be a "Collector Vehicle".
25 years and older (from current year) are considered a "Antique Vehicle", qualifying for "Historical Vehicle" plates.
Ohio also allows the use of Year of Model license plates but you have to register the year plate under the "Historical Vehicle" plate which must be kept somewhere in the vehicle.
