My parents just ordered up a set of JW Rod Garage deuce rails that are bobbed for model A bodies. I tried talking them into just a standard set of 32 rails, but my old man didn't want to "cut his perfect floor" so they went with the bobbed ones. Just curious if anyone has pictures of a 30-31 tudor on them.....or any 30-31 bodies for that matter!

Bobbed or not, the A floor needs to be cut to make room for the 32 frame kick up! The Bob is to shorten the frame so it ends in front of the back of the A body.

  4. Only had to cut rear seat tin for coil over home built coil over upper mounts to lower stance . JW mounts are lacking a little and sets the rear a little high, even for a highboy . Can't get pics to load but search Dustan Dustan thread a on 32 rails for pics

Looks good to me....This is the chassis he is looking at/ordered. Is your rear hairpin as ordered? He was thinking of going a little more "street roddish" with a hairpin /beam front, and coilover/tri-4 bar rear. He's still not sure about doing the bob, or running full rails, and a 32 tank in the back. Where are you putting your tank? What did you do for a firewall?

  7. Hair pin mounts are whatever you want to do . We decided to do what we did . We are running coil overs also . My tank is a beautifully restored cowl tank and cowl when I bought the body so I'm using original model a cowl tank and sight glass gauge . I do like the craftsmanship of the frame however if I had it to do all over again I can't say I would use the bobbed frame again. Part of the reason I chose to do outside hair pins at rear is to hide the 90* bobbed frame just in front of rear tire. It is what it is , (an easier way to do it)

  8. Some more pictures. The rear coil over mounts you see are the ones we cut off.

    Thanks for the extra pics.
Was your body at JW this fall?
When I showed my parents your pics, they thought they saw that body when they went there to talk to them.

  10. No, I'm in Portland Oregon area

  11. FYI when I ordered the frame I was told it would be shipped in two weeks . 5 weeks and a few phone calls later it was shipped. Still fairly good time but I had all the parts and some time off and no frame .

What's going on with the front of the chassis? Does it have a reverse rake or is that the camera angle? The reason I ask is the downward angle of the front hairpins. Something looks out of whack, or is that just the way this chassis is?

  13. 32 frame rakes up at firewall. Front hair pins are just hanging, not yet mounted at frame
