    Lost for words......

Andy Griffith show was not a group of actors.

They were brilliant people who taught us what life could be/should be and the most important part was to laugh at life itself.

How good they were was I didn't think of all of them as actors but as family and neighbors and the way life should be in treating people.

A truly sad day for an American Icon.

What a loss, but what a gift left for millions to enjoy.

    This one hurts inside.

i saw an A&E biography on him, he really was a love god. women absolutely fell for him like some sort of svengali. i loved him when driving the powder blue ford convertible in "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad World". The early info-mercials he did for Dodge trucks were a hoot too. And i garantee no one else here has his tech book on pouring concrete....

We'll all miss "Barney". I read a bio that stated Don Knotts wrote some of the funniest scenes for the Andy Griffith show. I hope Thelma Lou is waiting for him......

  9. Citizens arrest, citizens arrest!!!

Barney Fiffe was one of the best all-time characters on TV played by one of the best comedians ever. I'm sure we will never see his likes again....

Sad for todays generation. Drive towards the light old friend.......

  10. I grew up with the Andy Griffith Show and it would not survive today had it not taught us good ol' fashion values,,,a simple time in life when minor imperfections in others could overlooked,,,,,

Everybody could see a little bit of themselves in one or more of the regulars on the show,,,,,

Don Knotts will be seen as the Barny for years to come,,,,

One of my all time favorite movies is the 1955 classic,,,No time for sergents,,,,staring Andy Griffith,,,but I think Don Knotts steals the scene he is in as CPL. JOHN C. BROWN,,,when he checks Andy for Dexterity,,,,his true comic genius comes thru with flying colors!

    Good bye, Don,,,,HRP

  12. Man, this one hurts! I am a huge fan of the Andy Griffith show. I watch it darn near everyday. Never tire of it.

I feel like someone from my family died.

Vaya con Dios, Don. You will be missed!

    Quoted in our local paper...

"Don was a small man...but everything else about him was large: his mind, his expressions. Don was special. Theres nowbody like him, I loved him very much" Andy Griffith.

We should all be so lucky as to have someone say that about us when we are gone. Don has hundreds of thousands feeling exactly the same way today.

Since several have mentioned the values that they learned from the show, you might be interested in knowing that there is actually a bible study based on the Andy Griffith Shows. Can't recall what it's called at the moment but that says a lot for the content. Clean AND Funny is a rare commodity these days.
