I was bored this week, so I wanted to try and make my own radius rods for my project. I do have one question though. From the center of the tie rod end to where the two bars meet is about 5 inches. I would like some input as whether or not this to much of an overhang. I could shorten up the top bar by an 1 1/4 or so. When I made the bars I was limited on the length of 7/8 DOM that I had on hand.
I think it is too much stickin out alone. But I also think the whole lot is a little short. The shorter the pins/bones, the tighter the radius they arc in. The tighter the arc, the more the suspension geometry is compromised.
if the top bar is 37.5 ctc make the bottom 37.5 ctoc and see ho tat works , generall , they're the same dave
Front hairpins are normally 37 5/8 and rear ones are 47 1/2 from Pete and Jake. The bottom bar needs extended to about 2". Just add it to the rear with some more 7/8 tubing s****. I run a solid tube inside when I extend them.
I too think that is a little much sticking out. Maybe a couple of inches would be better, because when you add the length of the rod end, it will move it back even more. Here are similar hairpins on my 27. Don
