Happy holidays, HAMBers... this is a parts box build, trimmed the roof off a 29 pickup cab. used the 283/powerglide from a Revell 57 BelAir kit suspension, frame, other parts are just miscellaneous left-overs
Here's one I finished this past week. Ir's a car I saw race back in the late 60's and got info and pictures from the guy who owned the car. He started the build in 1965 and it was his 6 cyl. version of the injected AWB cars running then.
Cleaned up the bench and made a swapmeet/carshow wagon for the '29 Ford truck. The '36 is getting the interior worked on. Happy 2016 Y'all.
I am starting the build of a 40 ranchero from a junk 2 door sedan body,its going to be built as a beater and not sure how its going to turn out but if it looks good will make a nicer version in the future. I am going for the look of a home made shop truck done back in the 50s.
Great idea. I have used models (plastic and diecast) to help with several of my design ideas for full size builds. I prefer nothing larger than 1/25th scale. Currently using a Chevelle Wagon model I made to help me develop my design ideas for the full size mid 60's 2door Nomad Wagon conversion I am building. The nice part is when I sold some of my cars I still have the models to enjoy.
Hey Bob, is that a Lindberg '61? If yes, I'm curious as to the quality of that and the '60s Mopars. Opinions from all are welcome. I was less than ecstatic about the Lindberg Lincoln- a ton of work to get any kind of fitment.
Yep, the '61 1s Lindberg. All of the Lindberg stuff I've built has been great stuff. I've heard that Lincoln was a bea ras far as fitment. Have heard similar about the '53 Ford. The Mopar & Chevy stuff is a lot easier to werk with.
The Lindberg 53 ford convertible and Victoria are very good quality kits. Some of the other lindberg kits are definitely very bad but the 53 Fords go together extremely well and have the proportions pretty well dead on to the cars they represent.
The Lindberg 60s Mopars are very nice kits. The 40 Ford coupe is a bit of a pain. Still have an unbuilt '61 Chevy 2 dr and '53 Ford Victoria in boxes.
Here's a couple in the works. Smoothing out the Elky that I started 25 years ago and still making decisions on the Vicky, might end up fenderless.

Lindberg's Mopars are NOT repopped Johan kits... they're all relatively new tools with "full" detail chassis plates instead of Johan's "promo" style plates.. they're good kits but have some quirks as far as window glass being too thick and windshields prone to splitting down the middle. I don't much like their tires and usually replace them with AMT tires....
Here's a couple pics of the AMT '37 Chevy reissue I recently finished up in Gasser trim; it's a good kit but there are fit issues if you're trying to build it stock.. Looking back, I should have left the stock grille instead of using the faired-over "drag" part, as I could find not ONE good image of a drag car using a grille like that.
