. I picked up this 52 olds axle for my 52 Buick today to use to convert to open drive but u got it home and it's 3.5" wider I'm guessing it's from the bigger bodied olds does anybody know if I can just swap the olds 3rd member into my Buick axle? Thanks!
I don't know the answer to your question, though some research will determine that. However, what are your plans for controlling the axle ***embly AFTER the torque tube is gone? You may already be aware, but those diagonal braces currently on the Buick are not sufficient for that purpose. Either a GM "truck arm" setup or a 4 bar system are the most common for that purpose.
