All the major quick coupling manufacturers make what they call full bore fittings. The port thru them is full line size and they don't use the normal spring and poppet like regular fittings. At the full output of your compressor, the 3/8 full bore fittings would have less than 1 psi pressure drop. The 1/4" fittings you're using now can have anywhere between 5 and 10 psi drop for each QC pair in the line. Drop will depend on the particular brand and construction of the QC fittings.

60 ft of 3/8 hose will have close to 10 psi drop at 18 cfm flow. 60 ft of 1/2" hose about 1.5 psi drop at 18 cfm.

1/2" hose and full bore quick couplings should help a lot.

I just bought a new EMAX 5 hp 2stage 80 ga. 19 cfm at 90lb. for 1475 delivered . I got it online at home depot. Pretty quiet. lots of air , lots of USA tags. I am very happy , but it took about 3 weeks to arrive.

A good inlet silencer makes a huge difference in noise level. The expansion chamber volume (between the inlet port(s) and discharge pipe) should be 10X the compressor displacement. Pretty easy to make
Does not help with rattly belt guards, rod knock, piston slap, and angry compressors set on pallets stamping their feet.

I've had my I/R for 10 years. 5hp single stage, 80 gal tank. 200 hours on it. Replaced a pressure switch once.
Other than that it's never let me down. Never has to play catch up even when blasting. I'm a believer!

  7. This is a high RPM 2 stage that runs on 3 phase power.
I don't have a decimeter, but there's an phone app for that. No idea on accuracy but consider it relative. It was running at 140 plus decibels- LOUD.
I whipped up the intake with a cheap car muffler and now it runs at about 75 decibels. Shocking at how much it quieted down.
Now if I could get it to look like neat and tidy like evintho's :)
