My avatar is chopped 5", I wouldn't go more than that, good looking sedan good luck and welcome to the HAMB.
I installed the ladder bar in the rear and the 4 inch drop beam with a reverse eye leaf spring in front and the 4 bar. Planning on 4 wheel disc brakes. The rear end is too wide I'm either going to get it narrowed or find another reared.
i was going to try to save the rear section that the rear seat sat on but it was really rusty and ate through. I got it all cut out with the plasma cutter. I am sure glad I bought that
I got the body back on the chassis. Now need to figure out the motor mount and tranny mount. I need to mount the brake mount and master cylinder. Probably the car will placed on the back burner till after Christmas. My old snap on mig welder took a shit on me. It's 18 years old and I don't think it's worth fixing at this point. It needs a new torch. The mig has been discontinued for I don't know how long. Nobody even has a listing for it. Maybe I'll have alittle money left over after Christmas if the wife doesn't spend it all. Haha
Yes I did find the Vin. I was happy it was there. I had to sand down the area to make it readable. But could not get a pencil rub from it. So I settled for a picture
looking good! I just posted a build thread of my 29 Sedan, doing final things will hopefully be driving mine sometime January. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/1929-ford-sedan-build-first-build.1002970/#post-11311069
Having Fun, I've read your build up thread yesterday. Your car is definitely going to be sweet. Today I set the motor I between the frame rails. Tomorrow I need to buy some more metal to brace the body. The front crossmember in the body needs to be removed for the tranny to be place. Pics soon. The wife said yesterday I could go buy a new mig welder. I bought the Hobart 190. Omg it welds better than my old snap on welder ever did.
I installed the motor and tacked in the motor mounts. I set the engine approximately 4" away from the radiator, that was a mistake. I thought it would be more than enough room for the electric fan but I was wrong. I thought I wouldn't have to notch the front of the fuel tank, for the distributor. Another mistake of mine tonight. I figured it was time to head in. I'll try to work on it tomorrow
