Thanks again Jamie, I love this toy. My new ride is the 1961 Ford short wide bed pick up that Jamie posted for sale here on the HAMB. It came with Texas ***le and new tags, some neat custom features, and a BIG Caddy engine, and it runs and drives. It also has a Camaro front clip, 400 turbo ******, Ford 9" rear, Aluminum slot wheels with cool looking center caps, and it runs and drives. OK guys, it isn't perfect, it needs some rust repair to the cab floor, and some metal work to the bed floor. The custom features that it came with are: the front bumper was modified for recessed driving lights, GM tilt wheel, nice quilted headliner and visors, fibergl*** door panels with speaker mounts and flush mounted pull out door handles, electric windows, outside flush mounted pull out door handles, recessed antenna, filled and smoothed bed rails, smoothed tail gate, Mustang gas tank mounted under bed, recessed filler neck, smooth flush mounted flip up gas filler door installed in bed rail, inclosed battery box with hidden lock recessed in bed floor, set up for a bed cover, and a rear roll pan with the exhust exiting through it. If I am seccessful posting some pictures, I would like to hear your opinions about running the custon skirts shown in 2 of the pictures (Please no comments bout the old dude holding the skirts in place, sorry guys, I could not afford a pretty model), also your opinions about running dummy spot lights. And any ideas from photo shoppers will br greatly appreciated, but no chopped top (I can not afford that). Hope you guys drool..........Fred
no skirts on the truck and no dummy spotlights. Other than that, can be a cool truck with some work, and un-work
i kinda dig the skirts... oh, and the ones you're mocking up on the bed too i agree with speedaddict on the spots tho,,,
That's a killer truck!!! I'd like the skirts if it sat a few inches lower, but it sits just a wee bit high for 'em right now, in my opinion. Just say "NO" to the Dummy Spots, though...at any al***ude!! Again...nice ride...you're gonna have fun with it for sure!!
That paint job reminds me of the Daktari Jeep... Only black on black... Only lower it if you don't have a safari planned, but the skirts will keep the Rhino horns out of the back tires. JOE
I really do appreciate and respect each comment, suggestion, etc, that each of you have taken your time to respond to this post. Thanks,.....Fred
WElllll ? I say No spots , Yes skirts and Yes on 16" steelies with a 2" drop. That is gonna be a great project for ya.Looks real solid. g"Luck and thanx for sharin the pics . Oh yah and next time at least have the old dude pull his hair back and put on some blush , would ya? LoL . swaZZie
please no skirts or spots!! my .02 fresh coat of primer maybe red oxide for a refreshing change, real chrome reversed wheels with blackwalls, and a little rubber rake. clean simple tuff hauler...i likey!
Fender skirts + truck = bad in my opinion but it looks like you got a nice start otherwise. Also, chopping the top isn't too expensive if you do it yourself!
Skirts work for me but again...only if you SLAM it! Also thats an easy windshield to cut if you did want to chop it...just sandblast it. (or even try cutting with a fine cutoff wheel and water for cooling...its been done) either way I like it plenty!
I'm usually one of the "skirts on trucks ****" naysayers, but if you plan on droppin it in the dirt, then I don't think they would look so bad. Lotsa lowrider trucks back in West Tejas have 'em. Just so long as they are not two feet in the air. It'd be different... Here's a quick photohack for inspiration.
Just say NO to skirts on trucks. Got yourself a good start there man, feel free to drop the snot out of it and put a great set of wheels and tires on her...
Slam it, put on some chrome wheels, some subtle body mods and paint it Gloss Black. It's a 61 ford pickup truck, not a 50's custom car.
I am grateful to all that have replied to this post, and I do thank you all, and wish many good tidings return to you. WOW, I love both photos.....Fred
