Just dug this thread back up, hoping we can bring some life back to it. I striped this the other day. My dad was gonna get rid of it in the yard sale so I kept it to stripe it.

Sorry I don't have photos... one of the sprint cars I saw at East Bay (dirt oval) recently had some simple, but cool pinstripes. They were traditional in almost every aspect, but they were "huge" and by that I mean the stripes themselves were extra wide. Instead of say a single brush stroke of 1/8" or even 1/4" these were more like 1/2", at least. I don't know if they were hand painted or a stencil was used (or perhaps a sticker / wrap deal), but what stood out for me was that they could be seen from quite a distance, even up in the grand stands! The pin stripes were just white on a medium blue car and there weren't any secondary accents / other colored stripes in the design. Very simple, looked fantastic. Gary

  15. Here are a couple of pics.First is a picture of the footboard of a bed I did around 1956 before I striped my first car the following year. Wish I had a picture of that.
Next is a picture from Hot Rod Magazine (November 1963)of the first car I striped to be featured in a magazine.
Last is a picture of me doing some striping at the Casper Custom Car Show in Louisville KY in February of 2017. The hat was later auctioned off for charity(as was all the stuff that was striped there). PinstripedBedBoard circa1956.jpg HotRodMagazineNovember1963 5.jpg Louisville2017-5.jpg

Awesome!! I sure don't practice enough. I mess up a lot before I get an end result. I've watched a lot of people stripe and they never have to "erase" a part of their work. I can't stripe a car because the owner would flip out by how many times I had to wipe something off!! Haha..
