don't really want to run rubber fuel carb to carb don't want modern jegs race car stuff. looking for something used in the 40s look el mirage style thanks. I have a pic of the set up im looking for. you see the hard line going carb to carb in the pic. that's what im looking for.
Nice...remembrance in my archives. (1946-1957) Love those Eddie Meyer heads, and all the 'right stuff!' Radiator hoses, intake, headers, oil fill, side generator mount... Delicious. Flatmotor c***erole. Carbs fed with hard lines are the traditional setup...Just be sure to run a flexible black hose from frame/firewall to engine.
Man... Man after mine OWN HEART! Love it when something is so well done. California has more than the rumors say it does...
I made mine out of brake line and br*** fittings. I would think a "kit" would need to be adjusted depending on your intake?
If going with copper lines. I would suggest not connecting them solid to a line coming off the frame or cab. Engine vibration may cause them to weaken. I installed a short rubber line between the engine and cab.
I would use copper-nickel brake line. Strong as steel and soft as copper to bend. Available at Car Quest and other parts stores
I did like above but used the new copper/nickel brake line stuff they sell now, it shines up pretty nice. (easy to)
I used "Cunifer" (Copper/Nickel/Iron) brake line, which looks like copper but isn't as brittle, and br*** compression fittings from the hardware store to plumb my Strombergs...
These are the ends that go into the carbs and fuel filter/pump: http://www.macsautoparts.com/ford_m...rg-and-holley-and-ford-2-bbl-carburetors.html Just cleanly cut the hard lines off to length, slide the fitting and ferrule on the end, and tighten the fitting down into the carb, the ferrule crushes and seals the joint.
