I know this Hollywood flipper hubcap conversation has been here a few times but I have once another question. Here we go,,,, My recent project are plans to run these hubcaps. I have a set that came off early Chevy 16" rims with clips, I have another set that seems not to fit Chevy rims at all nor the 40 ford rims I have. My project I have 16" 40 Ford rims and not sure if there is a Ford rim with Chevy style clips that will fit the Hollywood flipper hubcaps that I got. Should I search for different set? Should I look for different rims? In the photo the two top caps are for Chevy rims with the center hubcap clip, the lower cap I have no idea what it fits? Lol and the rest are on my wall lol I guess I got it bad when car parts are all over the bedroom... Any ideas?
Yeah, just toss the ones that don't fit my way and get some that will fit. They're all over the place.
cut the back off some dented up 48 ford caps and tack weld to the back of your caps if you use 2 piece caps i e 42 thru 48 you can just grind around the outside where its crimped together and it will come apart you can snap the back piece on your wheel when its off the car lay your flipper cap on there and look inside thru the center hole with a mirror to make sure the spacing it right Its been done lots of times B
How about a flipper cap story? I was watching a street race about 1960...I was 14. Well when the cops left I came out of the woods and jumped over a ditch headed to the hwy. Well there in the water was 4 checkerboard flippers...so I loaded them up. Seems they were stollen from some really mean dude about 18 or 19. He grabbed me up, all 120 lbs of me, and put me in a janitors closet. When I got out I surrendered my flippers, I had really cleaned them up!
