Chevy SB. Looking for a oil pan that has the dip stick on the P***enger side that comes out of the pan. Not sure of the year, maybe 1980 . Mine is rusted out and can't seem to find any online any where or know what years they used them.

  2. An '80 pan should be for left dipstick. It should be pan located instead of block located. If your block had a dipstick hole on the driver side you can use an early pan and just put a soft plug in the block then buy a pan mount dipstick kit.

I have a number that you can call for a pan and for ***istance in pan choice. it is a catalog speed shop and I am not spamming today so if you want it PM me.

Not V8 Monza unless they changed sides somewhere along the line. I just looked at mine to be sure. All three that I looked at are in the pan but on the drivers side.

The pan is rusted out? I've fixed many with some sheet metal and brazing rod.

I'm confused, the original post says p***enger side now you say left. Chevy Monza V8 pan has dipstick in the pan on the drivers side, but can be hard to find. 78 & 79 Malibu 305 was also supposed to have stick in the pan not sure which side. There are some listed on Car-part.com. That's as much as I know, hope it helps.

  11. There is some basic disagree on the '78/9 Mailbu 305. I am not sure I have worked on one and never owned one so I can't really weight in on the topic which is why I went with the '80. I know that in '80 they had p*** side dipsticks. That said I have an oddball '80 block that has a driver side dipstick, it also has some odd sized soft plugs that are basically unobtainium. :D

Ok, I read through the listings on car-part and some specify dipstick in pan on left side. Monza and Malibu are the only stock pan mounted SBC dipsticks I know of, but I certianly don't know everything.

The 64-67 Chevy II V8 had a driver side, pan mounted dipstick, but it also had a front sump

I'll take ether Right or left as long as the dip stick comes out of the pan. My Manifolds dump at the hole in the block. Ebay only shows pans with dipsticks for big blocks. I have a 305 in another car with a pan mounted stick out the right . I thought it would be simple.

Would something like this work for you? It is for the Ford 7.3, I wish I had know about it with my 65 Ford. It would have solved my problem. I found it on Amazon
