Anyone ever use the Juliano's top insert for their A sedan or coupe? Any pics to share of the job you did with it? They offer a kit for a coupe or a sedan. They have pics in the "How To" section, at their website, but the pics of it are much better at the Rod & Custom website, in their "Tech" section. Juliano's offers a video for about $10 bucks, but my experience with videos related to my A has always been pretty poor. They recommend using canvas instead of cotton batting. Rolf did a great post regarding his top insert, but I am trying to find anyone who has actually used to Juliano's insert in order to add information to my collection of good info on roof repairs and replacement. Thanks, Huey
Huey, every experience I've had with Juliano's has been great...all the products they've sold have been TOP quality. I would assume this would be the same. my .02 John
I've got one installed on the '32 2dr that is my summer daily driver. Hatch and I installed it (it takes 2 people) and it couldn't have worked better. It has almost a stock look and after 5 years still looks like the day we installed it. Be prepared to drill a LOT of holes and do some precise measuring. The instructions are great and if followed to the letter will give you a good looking and long lasting insert. I'd use another one in a heart beat. My camera took a dump so no pictures but everyone has seen a '32 with a stock insert. It's the car in my avatar. Frank
Huey how much does the kit cost? I need to put on in on my Tudor. I need to cover up all my gauge wiring I have running throught the roof.

I used the kit on my A coupe in "84 and it still looks great today. At least it looked good the last time I was up in the barn. Panhead
Is there any problem with the vinyl trim that covers the aluminum strip shrinking if the car is stored in the cold? This ones for you northern US and Canadian guys and gals. Canuck
I don't really know if they are for Model A's and such or not. I'd have to write them an email to find out. Still, the basic principal of installation should be the same and who knows. I may have to call and get the video. I was thinking that they were for sedans, but not for sure. Although they showed a '32, I still was thinking they had kits for others. Anyone know for sure? Huey
I had good results with the Juliano's top insert kit on my A coupe. The video was a big help and worth the money.Top has been in my car for 6 years now with no runs, no laeks and no errors.
I have a similar one on my deuce tudor. I went to a vinyl top place and they had the appropriate materials. First we used a sheet of 1/8 tempered Masonite screwed down inside the insert area, then thin top foam and then vinyl top material that was low gloss and trimmed it with the top edging just like Julianos kit. Probably only cost me twice as much as doing it myself, but it turned out very nice.
anyone run one on a model A sedan, i think i can make it work, just curious....since my regular side type drip rails holes are all heavy drilled in, its impossible to drill all those out to mount a trad. style cobra top. so i was thinking about getting the wood roof ribs, doing the chicken wire, then the julianos kit, and kind of doing it 32 style by screwing the rail say about a3/4 inch around the "insert" area throught he sheetmetal, actually using little nuts and bolts. probably going to be a pain in the assl but with 3 peop[le its going to be aLOT easier than drilling through all those welds for a trad. top and a lot cheper too as i dont have to spend 360$ on a wood kit.
Hi Guys I have a juliano kit and vet shortly going to fit it , sadly when I bought mine they didn't have white anymore , and I'm going white but need the rubber trim piece that snaps into place on the aluminum strip in "White" can anyone help a brother out do you know of a supplier in your side of the world Thanks From Brentyn
I have installed a bunch of them! Work great! I haven't done any in the past 5 years or so. But, Quality product Pretty, easy to do!
Just finished one on my 32 also helped on a sedan, great product. Final instal is a two person operation. Tips, make & use the strecher and use a hair dryer to soften the rubber molding for ease of assembly.
I've done several and the results were good. Make sure to allow for shrinkage with the snap on trim strip. I always put the seam at the back and glue it together with super glue or gorilla glue. I am alone so I built a 2X4 frame and stretch the vinyl to the frame then lay the frame over the top and finish the job.
I've had this Juliano's top insert on my '34 5-window coupe for several years with no problems. As someone stated earlier, I found it easier with 2 folks doing the install to pull it tight when attaching. Jim
Any pics out there of this kit on a Model A at the A-Pillar/windshield header. I have a kit here and will be installing it soon. Curious as to how to do the front edge. Do I pull the old trim edge cover off above the visor?
