We are working on finishing the restoration of the Ed Pink 36 coupe and having the car out at the GNRS this year. The car has been in the shop for awhile now, I had a thread on it before but i think with the site update it got lost some wear.. I will get some more information posted on the car later.
I met ed and his wife at the last deuce days in Victoria! Great people! Eds a walking,talking,genuine living legend! Was the highlight of deuce days,for me!

Here are a few restoration photos of the Ed Pink 36. Ed had a local body shop guy chop the car in 1948, the car is chopped 5". The coupe had spent the rest of its life as a drag car. While the body remained in tack and fairly straight, the floor pan and firewall were in need of some major repair. The chop seams were metal finished out and the the rest of the body worked over.
Rex, I've known a number of Ed's family members over the past 40 plus years and they are a talented and diverse group. From Ed's incredible history in various racing venues to the Pink's Hot Dog stand in LA. Hope Ed is able to see the coupe and I'm sure he would tell you that it was never finished as well as you and your shop have accomplished. Looking forward to seeing it at the GNRS.
Ed has been extremely helpful in the restoration of the his old coupe. Ed Pink is building the motor that will eventually go in the car. The engine that is in the car now was built by Eric Brown at Go Cat speedshop. Ed said that the car had Sandy Belond headers on the car, so a set of them were fabbed up at the shop. Pat Swanson helped us locate all the correct gauges for the car.
We are working on getting the car ready fro the GNRS next week things are going fairly well on the assembly stage. here are a few paint and body photos from a few months back. This is the original color, picked by Ed Pink himself, the color just makes the lines of a 36 flow.
