I added 2" to the top of the body and cut the 1" raised part off the cowl where the windshield used to sit on. I built this RPU [without the PU] for this gentleman [ who wishes to remain anonynous] I had a thread on it several months ago but the pictures were not as nice as these. Still not in a studio like the fat cats do. For those who did not see the first post.. I fabricated the windsheild posts and the 4" longer doors. I built the entire car except I had Damon Detmer do the door skins. Front friction shocks. Okie Joe axle. Winters QC. Engine level. milled intake level.
Nice little go cart but nowhere near a traditional build. There are days I wonder if we are losing this site to the gold chainers.
Very nice, lots of detail work. I'd keep an eye on the steering wheel screws since you flipped the spider, that puts pressure on the threads, not the spider. Bob
That happened long ago! LoL This is a nice little car with a lot of traditional touches on a more modern build. It's what a lot of us have really. With the right wheels and tires, drum brakes...maybe original posts...it could be right outta the late 50's. Nice clean work!!!
I think its pretty sharp looking. I don't see a whole lot that don't fit in here as traditional. You did a nice job. Better than most of us I am sure. About that steering wheel....I used to have one just like it and didn't know what it came from. Tmodel? If so, what year?
I believe the 1912 T was the last year with a br*** spider, forged steel after that, followed by the four stamped steel arms riveted to the hub. The screws on my stock '12 used to loosen, that is why I made the comment above. Bob
On the chimney in my "office" at home is a framed blow-up print of the Terry Cook s**** of "SheepRodder" magazine with all the identical '32 Ford roadsters plunging lemming-like off a precipice - shades of the chicky run in "Rebel Without A Cause." A quote I heard waaay back in high school - "The only thing a nonconformist hates more than a conformist is a nonconformist who doesn't conform to the prevailing norms of nonconformity. When you have this much talent, taste and imagination, whatever you build is, as a poster said, "*****EN". We are now is 2016 - this car is forever. Congrats.
Amen! I mean channeled, split bones, dropped axle, 3 deuces, Winter's Style v8 Quick, Lakes....Come on! I agree the rims and tires could be more traditional, but personally I dig as is. Nice build. Thanks for sharing.
What the ****. A guy post a build with traditional flavor that few here would only imagine. And traditionalist jump in his post to see how far they can piss. Give me a break. The Hamb has a strictly designed forum for strict traditional builds. I suggest those that think this is untraditional keep your *** over there.
Yeah, this you can't play in my sandbox **** is gettting old. It may not be uber strict traditional. But I would surely give it a good once over verse the 1970 chevy impala or 2003 corvette parked next to it at the show.... *this is from a uber strict traditionalist myself.
