Problems with Stewart Warner Wings electric speedometer. Getting ready to install in my 32 flathead and S10 5 speed, are they any problems I should be aware of? Calibration problems, using 2 wire sending unit stock Chevy. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Don Buck

I put the same setup in my '32 Ford. It's been a few years, but as I recall, the T5 ****** put out
way too many pulses for the SW speedometer's range. I solved the problem by using the interface
adapter sold by Dakota Digital. It connects between the ****** and the speedo. You can program it to take the ****** pulses and give the speedometer the right pulse rate for the speed you're traveling. It works like a champ. Check it out.
I just went down and looked at the unit in my car. It's called a universal signal interface and the model number is SGI-5c

Trying to avoid them, it's always good to have options. Thanks for your post.

Used the same Dakota Digital interface with an electric Wings speedo and things worked good.

I chose to use a GPS style sensor antenna on my coupe with that is equipped with the wings electronic speedo. It works well. Finding a good spot to locate the antenna unit can be problematic but the units require no calibration.

What brand GPS sending unit are you using?

We had a Hell of a time getting the Wings electronic speedometer in my Sons rpu to read right. Finally, SW took it back and sent us a replacement and it worked.

That GPS unit looks cool and I am using the same Wings speedometer for my rpu and might look into that.

I have an Auto Meter speedometer/GPS in my roadster. Want to use Stewart Warner in my coupe.

I am using this one from speedway. I mounted it on a little bracket off of the rear bumper bolt. I did have to splice in a longer 4 wire conductor to do that. They just have to be located with direct view of the sky. Although I did not test the theory I think you could hide one under fabric and still get it to work.
This is the only picture of the install I could find. Sorry it is kind of fuzzy.
