Technical need help with brake question

    i have a question i would like to post... as i had my brakes looked over and they corrected a few things i did wrong...i didnt notice till now that they took this 10 lb valve i put on my line about where the driver door is underneth...i was under the impression i needed that because i have disks on the front and drums on the back? im i wrong? im just kinda confused why they took it out...im talking to them tommorrow but would like comments here ps my car is a 1956 oldsmobile with disks on the front and drums on the back

    Disc brakes don't use a residual pressure valve. Are you using a single res with a proportioning valve or a dual resivior?
    A res pressure valve would have the discs engaged without you braking.

    Depends on your master cylinder and location. If its under the floor I always put a residual between the master and the brakes. If its up on the firewall you don't normally need to as long as your master cylinder has them built in, which most do.
