    Hey guys
Apologies for all the questions, but if I don't ask.......

I have a 63 Galaxie with a 390 engine. The current exhaust manifolds are badly cracked up, chipped etc. My current manifolds have the casting No C3AE-9431-A and CRCO-AE-9431-A.

Is someone able to tell me the difference between Casting C3AE-9431-A and C3SZ-9431-A? I imagine it comes down to the angle of the outlet??
As there are few parts available in Australia, there are quite a few manifold available on the net in the US. (please see links)

    Difference is probably outlet position.

the way Ford listed part #'s...C1 is 1961....C2 is 1962....C3....1963 and so until 1970....which got the D0 and on to 1971 D1....you should be able to find a like manifold on the big cars through the years...TBirds were sorta special....and the smaller Fairlane's/Mustangs were REALLY special.....good luck

When you get your new manifolds make sure they are machined flat or there will be sealing problems at the head. -Dave

I am with mikhett on this one. Unless numbers matching original is really important too you. Order a set of FPA headers and move on. I feel they are one of the best quality FE headers on the market today.

Left or Right hand drive? Our family car is a RHD 65 galaxie, I had a cracked right hand manifold and found it very hard to find a replacement. On the right hand drive the outlet comes back past the last port then faces down the fire wall to clear the steering box. I ended up welding and repairing the original manifold I had after I paid $200 for one that was in worse condition than what I started with. The left side that dumps in the middle of the manifold should not give you much trouble.

Yes, the car is RHD. Its the left hand side that Id like to find a replacement for/anything In better condition. I believe the outlets may be different sizes depending on where the engine came from? E.g. Truck. If the outlet ends up being on a slightly different angle, I can always bend the pipe to fit.

  9. stock car racers run 2 different types of cast iron headders, they were different lengths a lot of ford racers had them about 30 years ago in my area they should fit a galaxie ch***is

image.jpeg This was the left hand manifold that was being used in our Galaxie when I bought it. It is a c3 casting but different again at C3SE9431B. I replaced it with one that had no repairs but don't know if it was the same number. I only had problems with the other side. Remember in Australia we had locally made and Canadian made Galaxies so you can have some cross over parts.

Thanks for the replies. So, its possible to have the same manifold, but with different part numbers because some were Aus made and Canadian made? Interesting. Do you still have this manifold? Interested in parting out?

    Back to the dead horse......

There is a free 25 hp on the table by just getting rid of those damn log manifolds and replacing them even a competent set of headers. Early on I thought you had a set of cast iron Galaxie headers and that is why you were so intent on keeping them. I never bothered to open the links, my bad.

2nd Note: That manifold looks extremely similar to the manifold used in F-Series pickups in the 70's. That may be another place to look for one. Although, I have never seen a used pickup truck manifold that wasn't cracked, however Dorman has brand new reproductions that work well.

Ausy, I do still have this one but if you are buying one you would want one with no repairs. Postage could hurt a bit on a cast iron manifold. It sounds like just about any Galaxie/T-bird/F100 manifold might get you out of trouble on the right hand side. It would probably be a good idea to get to some swap meets with you're manifold and talk to some people, there is a bit of FE stuff out there. Chances are one FE dude might know another FE dude that can help you.
